Training Contracts

Bermans is committed to the future of the profession and each year takes on trainee solicitors in both our Liverpool and Manchester offices.

We currently provides routes to qualification via both the LPC and the SQE (QWE).

We always try to retain our trainees following qualification, and several of our partners and solicitors/associates are in fact former trainees.

The application process for our 2027 intake of Trainee Solicitors is now open. We anticipate offering four training contracts in total across our offices in Liverpool and Manchester, commencing in March 2027 and September 2027.

Applications are subject to the following eligibility criteria:

• A degree in law is preferred, but degrees in other subjects followed by a conversion course may be considered.
• Candidates need to have successfully completed the academic element of their qualification (i.e. LPC or SQE) prior to commencing their training contract.
• Bermans’ training contracts may include seats in both of our offices, so candidates must be able to work from Liverpool and Manchester during their period of training.

Because of the volume of applications that we expect to receive for the 2027 intake, it will not be possible for us to respond to each application individually. Applicants who are selected to proceed to the interview stage will be notified by the end of February.
